Where is the sense of responsibility?

Came across an article on ST Forum 'Can insurer wash its hands of errant client?' published on April 5, 2006. The reader had responded to a previous article 'Insurer had no choice but to repudiate liabilities' which was published on April 3, 2006.

I was kinda apalled and amazed at the lack of repsonsibility and accountability that prevails in some people. It is a very basic understanding that for a Insurance company to process a claim, claimant should provide the necessary documents, in the case, which is a police report. We cannot just blindly bend the rule for a simple fact that the insured party refused to make the ncessary accident report. Its simply an act of sheer unreasonableness not to do so and expect the company to process your payout.

Quoted from the article 'insurance policy was in force at the time of the accident and therefore the Insurance Company should be responsible for any claims made on that policy, irrespective of whether its insured has followed the company's procedures' (I have on purpose left out the name of the insurance company) **Shake Head** Then what is the point of having procedures in the first place? Procedures have been set in place for a reason.

Although I believe the majority are a mature and sensible lot, it just take a few black sheeps to mar and tarnish that beatiful image. There are still a minority who are still lacking on the being socially responsible and taking accountability for their own action.
